PLEASE DON’T LAMINATE THE EARTH world plastic day!
Plastics are used for many important applications, but are increasingly dependent on disposable or disposable plastics.
This has a serious environmental impact. One million plastic bottles per minute are purchased worldwide. Every year we use 5 trillion won disposable plastic bags. In general, 50% of the plastic used is disposable.
Almost a third of the plastic packaging we use avoids the collection system. In other words, the streets of our city accumulate, and pollution ends.
Approximately 13 million tons of plastic material enters our oceans each year to contain coral reefs and threaten endangered marine animals.
It may take up to thousands of years for plastics living in the ocean to travel fully on Earth four times a year.
Plastics also penetrate our water supply and thus penetrate our bodies. What damage has this done to you?
Scientists are not yet sure, but plastic contains many chemicals, many of which are harmful or harmful to hormones.
Plastics can act as a magnet for dioxins, metals, and other contaminants, including pesticides.
If you can’t reuse it, refuse it.
It’s world plastic day! There are many opportunities – to invite frequent restaurants, stop using a straw, use coffee cups and encourage local governments to improve garbage collection in your city.
Here are some other specific ideas:
- Bring your own shopping bags to the supermarket
- Pressure food suppliers to use non-plastic packagin
- Refuse plastic cutlery
- Pick up any plastic you see the next time you go for a walk on the beach
